New Sonic Drive In Restaurant to be located in Sandusky, Ohio - Conditional Use Permit Issued! 

SONIC drive-in owner eyes Perkins location

An Ohio developer is eyeing Perkins Township as a potential location for a SONIC Drive-In.

Kerry Dechant, a SONIC franchisee and owner of Aurora-based Ultimate Developing, has submitted a conditional-use permit to Perkins Township’s zoning department in hopes of building a 1,600-square-foot SONIC on U.S. 250.

Dechant hopes to buy 2 acres in front of America’s Best Value Inn and Roadhouse restaurant. The land is owned by DAMSA, a Milan company.

Dechant needs the conditional-use permit because the proposed restaurant’s drive-thru doesn’t jibe with the commercial zoning regulations for that site, said Jim Lamb, Perkins Township zoning inspector.

If built, the Perkins SONIC would be one of just a handful of SONIC Drive-Ins in northeast Ohio, said Frank Cuevas, director of real estate, development and construction at Ultimate Developing.

Popular SONIC® Drive-In Restaurant Coming Soon to Streetsboro, Ohio - The First of it's kind in the Northeast Ohio Region

Northcoast Drive-Ins, a Northeast Ohio-based restaurant company, is bringing the popular SONIC® Drive-In restaurants to the Cleveland, Ohio region in 2008.

For quite awhile SONIC® TV commercials have been playing in Cleveland and Akron and surrounding suburbs like Amherst, Avon, Brunswick, Hudson, Parma, Sandusky, Solon, Shaker Heights, Streetsboro, Strongsville, Chagrin Falls, etc. North Coast Drive-Ins is planning on bringing you the SONIC® Experience in these areas. Up until this point the closest SONIC® was located in the Columbus area -- obviously too far a drive to make when you're hungry. It was time to bring residents in the Cleveland region a SONIC® Drive-In that they could enjoy.

The location of the first Northeast Ohio SONIC® Drive-In is going to be Streetsboro, Ohio. It will share it's location next to the new Super Wal-Mart and a new Chipotle restaurant which will also be added.

The Streetsboro SONIC® is going to be the first of many Northeast Ohio locations that North Coast plans on adding around the area starting in 2008.
